Wenn man sich als Anbieter besonders gut hervorhebt und heraus kristallisiert und sich somit langfristig binden kann dann stehen die Chancen für den Erfolg bei einem Marktplatzmodell relativ gut.
Bei diesem Modell geht es darum auf einer Plattform den Vertrieb von Waren oder Dienstleistungen anzukurbeln und so möglichst viele Kunden und Interessenten auf diesem Marktplatz zusammen zu führen.
Dieses Marktplatzmodell gibt es schon seit einigen Jahren, und wurde auf Grund der Technik immer weiter perfektioniert. Ergebnis eines solchen Systems ist die Schaffung von Wechselwirkungen - Kunden kommen dahin wo mehrere Anbieter vertreten sind, und die Firmen gehen dorthin wo sie möglichst viele potenzielle Kunden erwarten.
Ein so genannter Makler stellt dazu im Internet einen Plattform zur Verfügung auf der Firmen ihre Ware anbieten können und der interessierten Kunden darüber die Ware erwerben kann.
Durch die Umsätze, die dann getätigt werden, erhält der Makler seinen eigenen Umsatz durch die anfallenden Gebühren. Der Makler muss allerdings auch dafür sorgen, Unternehmen für sich zu gewinnen um den Kunden mehrere Angebote präsentieren zu können. Der Nachteil daran ist das viele Großunternehmer an dieser Art des Verkauft nicht interessiert sind denn sie möchten nicht das sich einen Dritter in die Geschäfte einmischen. Diese Art der virtuellen Märkte können allerdings nur dann überleben wenn sie einen großen Anteil an Anbietern und Kunden nachweisen können und wenn die Gleichheit zwischen Angebot und Nachfrage immer wieder gegeben ist.
